We celebrated our Grand Opening of our Garden Sanctuary on June 7th. We were given a mini-grant from the Mental Health, Drug & Alcohol Services Board of Logan & Champaign Counties to do the project.
Here are before and after pictures. It was a lot of work but it is beautiful and it truly is a Sanctuary dedicated and prayed over. We give the glory to our God, our Heavenly Father.
This Sanctuary is a place where volunteers, staff and our clients can go and rejuvenate, relax and take time to be quiet and enjoy the outdoors and beauty of God’s creation.
Before… It was an old playground with lots of tires which everything was removed.

We had a group of people from the Urbana Methodist Church who planted some flowers last year and helped clean up the yard taking out a lot of old playground tires.

We bought flowers from Amherst Nursery and a lot of perennials were donated by donors, volunteers and friends of Sycamore House!
Here are a couple of pictures of starting the process of tilling up are back yard and getting dirt from Seth’s Produce this year. A group from the Urbana Nazarene Church came and built us an arbor with a bench! They also cleaned up our fence line.

The following are the after pictures!

Here are the pictures of our celebration itself with a prayer of dedication with cupcakes and cookies provided after the prayer and acknowledgements.

We are so thankful for everyone who was able to help with this endeavor.
